Pattern (2): Strength of the Day Master

Now, in this unit, in Mandarin, it's about distinguishing between strength and weakness. To be more detailed, we call it the Twelve Stages of Birth, Prosperity, and Storage. These twelve are divided into twelve equal parts. "Birth, Prosperity, and Storage" is not a term in the Ziping system; it's a term used by the Five - Element scholars. The Ziping system is not independent but is based on the theory of the Five Elements. The concept of "Birth, Prosperity, and Storage" is about the Five Elements. For example, the Three - Harmony combination represents Birth, Prosperity, and Storage. The combination of Yin, Wu, and Xu is the Three - Harmony of Fire. The state of "Longevity" is at Yin, the state of "Prosperity" is at Wu, and the state of "Storage" is at Xu. The theory of the Five Elements talks about Birth, Prosperity, and Storage. Then, in the Ziping system, it's divided even more detailed into twelve equal parts.

In "Basic Outline of Ziping Fortune - Telling" on page 34 (13th edition), there is a table of the twelve stages of growth, prosperity, and storage. This table is very important in fortune - telling. For example, a small bowl of rice and a large bowl of rice can differ by ten times! So, what this refers to is strength and weakness, also known as lightness and heaviness. For instance, the official and the seven - killing stars represent teachers. Having official or seven - killing stars only means there are teachers; the quality of the teachers is not considered here. Then, how to distinguish strength and weakness? First, start from the ten heavenly stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, etc. For the Jia heavenly stem as the day master, it can be seated on six earthly branches by itself: Zi, Yin, Chen, Wu, Shen, and Xu. And it can be "led" to all twelve earthly branches. What does "led" mean? There is no Jia - Chou combination, but it can be born in the Chou year or the Chou month. This is called "led", which means pulling oneself to other earthly branches. When it is related to one's own earthly branch, it is called "seated". Everyone should understand these words. For example, if it is led to the hour branch, it refers to old age; if it is led to the month branch, it refers to youth.

The concepts of strength and weakness are divided into two areas. First, let's talk about the strength of the Day Master in fortune - telling. The Day Master represents "I", also known as the "body" or the "Day Stem". In fortune - telling, the strength of the Day Master is highly emphasized. If the Day Master is strong, for example, if the Day Stem is Jia Wood and it is born in the Yin month. In the theory of the Five Elements, the East belongs to Wood, including Jia and Yi Wood and the Mao position related to Wood. In this case, the person is very ambitious, thinking about what they want to do. However, having ambition doesn't necessarily mean one can achieve their goals. The overall situation (pattern) also needs to be strong. So, if both the Day Master and the pattern are strong, this person has a promising future. If the Day Master is weak but the pattern is strong, even though the environment is good, the person may not be willing to take on tasks. I've seen such cases. When there are opportunities for promotion, some people scramble for them, while others don't even want to go for it and are willing to give it to others. A weak Day Master cannot shoulder wealth and official positions. This is one concept.

Whether it's the Day Master or other Heavenly Stems, in total, there are ten Heavenly Stems. Now, look at this table. Let me give an example. When Jia encounters Yin, it is in the "Lin Guan" position. When Jia encounters Shen, it is in the "Jue" position. In fortune - telling terminology, the "Lin Guan" position is also called "Lu". That is to say, you need to memorize that "Jia's Lu is in Yin and its Jue is in Shen". You should remember the strongest and the weakest positions well. It doesn't matter if you can't remember the middle - level positions. The "Lu" and "Jue" positions must be memorized. The most important ones are the "Lu" and "Jue".

The Twelve Stages of Growth, Prosperity and Storage were originally about the Ten Heavenly Stems. When actually used, it's not about the Ten Heavenly Stems anymore, but about the Ten Gods. Apart from the Day Master, it's still about the Ten Heavenly Stems, that is, it's about the Ten Gods, leading to your Bazi structure and your relatives. Regarding prosperity and extinction, it's divided into twelve equal parts. What needs to be clearly explained especially is the Growth, Prosperity and Storage. Growth means Longevity, continuous growth. Regardless of future good or bad, at present, there is always continuous growth and there is a future. This Lu and Emperor Prosperity represent middle age. For example, if there is a Partial Wealth sitting on Longevity in the Year Pillar, and Partial Wealth represents your father sitting on Longevity, your family fortune will gradually rise. You may not necessarily have a Partial Wealth Structure! If the Partial Wealth sits on the Proximity Official, your family has reached its peak when you were young, regardless of how much money there is. If the Partial Wealth sits on the Storage, then your family just maintains the status quo. The Storage means it's already there and established, so there's no need to do much. For example, what does your father do? He does nothing and has already retired. That's the Storage! He has a pension.

Then, the prosperous and storage phases in the "Twelve Life Phases" can all be explained in the context of the Ten Gods and career. What can really be applied are the "lu" (salary) and "jue" (extinction) phases. For example, for a person born on a Jiashen day, the "jue" phase of Jia is at Shen. No matter how good or bad the overall situation of this person is in middle age, he has little motivation! So, a person's motivation and morale are innate. Some people simply don't want to get rich, while others must have tens of millions. This is a matter of whether one's "body" (in the context of traditional Chinese命理) is strong or weak. When the ancients talked about fortune - telling, they emphasized a strong "body" first. This is the view of the literati. When young, one should aim to pass the imperial examinations and become a Jinshi or a Zhuangyuan. Whether one can achieve it is another matter. Even if one can't, one should still set such a goal! This was the examination system in the Qing Dynasty. Now, things are a bit different. For example, if I want to have two hundred million, it's not easy to achieve, and it may even exhaust myself.

The conditions for a strong physique should be similar to the strength of the overall situation. For example, if you want to graduate from university, that's easy. But if you want to obtain five doctoral degrees, that's difficult. If it's overly strong, it's isolated and prosperous without support! Just boasting on your own won't work. If it's extremely weak, one won't know how to enjoy blessings, won't cause troubles, and won't even take opportunities when they come. For instance, when dividing up family property, a person with a strong physique won't accept even one cent less, while a person with a weak physique will just take a little and think it's better than nothing.

Whether one's physical constitution is strong or weak is a measure of a person's mental state. The same goes for wealth and relatives. When it comes to strength and weakness, the most obvious and useful factors are wealth and official positions. Wealth and official positions don't simply refer to money. According to my experience, about 70% of people have a monthly salary of around 70,000 yuan! The remaining 30% either get rich or are in debt. Ordinary people can't even get into debt; they can't even borrow money. This is for 70% of the people. Since you're not extremely wealthy, you don't own eight houses or have two hundred million yuan, what do you have left? It's just a family! Who represents the family? The husband and the wife. Well, we're not talking about getting extremely rich here. The husband also has his own strength and weakness, still following the principle of the twelve stages of prosperity and decline. Comparing with the proper official and the seven kills, if the husband star sits in a prosperous position, not everyone can achieve the 70,000 - yuan monthly salary I just mentioned. If it sits in a prosperous position, the salary could be even higher. If it sits in an exhausted position, it might be a bit difficult to meet this condition. Even if it can be met, it's not very stable.

Well, the same goes for wealth. Wealth doesn't necessarily refer to women. For men, money is the source of sustenance! I believe everyone will realize that, suppose you're fifty years old this year. Is the amount of your money the same every year? Maybe you had the most money in your thirties or fifties. This is a matter of the strength and weakness of the earthly branches. So first, you need to know how to check for strength and weakness, sitting and leading. To make it easier for you all to understand, I've talked about the positioning of the ten gods in the eight characters, pattern selection, simple clashes, and the years. Among the twelve stages of birth, prosperity, and storage table, the most important ones are "lu" (salary) and "jue" (extinction). Now, let's talk about practical examples. First, for about 70% of ordinary people, they won't become county magistrates, nor will they have two or three hundred million. So let's talk about their family affairs, that is, their family, husbands, wives, and children.

Among these three, the first priority is to talk about the horoscopes of women. Why? Because it's easier to calculate the horoscopes of women. It's simple. For a woman's horoscope, people only need to care about two things: her husband and her children. Money is not important to them. Well, from my experience, there are more women coming for fortune - telling, and they also ask more frequently. Later, I'll talk about the horoscopes of women separately. The content about the horoscopes of women is in General Outline of Ziping Basics. And in another one of my books called Detailed Explanation of Women's Horoscopes and General Discussion on Women's Horoscopes (Combined Edition), it's thicker than the General Outline of Ziping Basics.
