Eight Characters: Auspicious and Inauspicious Signs (2) Wealth Pattern

The previous section was about the Direct Officer. Although there are eight patterns, the principle can be deduced by analogy. Now, we are talking about the Wealth Pattern. The Direct Wealth and the Indirect Wealth are different in terms of the Six Relatives and personality, but they are the same in terms of the pattern, both belonging to the positive application. That is to say, wealth cannot be counter - attacked. The so - called counter - attack means that according to the positioning of the Ten Gods, the Peer and Rob Wealth counter - attack the Wealth.

Therefore, for the Wealth Pattern, the first thing to avoid most is the Peer and Robber. It should be noted here that when an ordinary Wealth Star, which is defined by the Ten Gods, encounters the Peer and Robber, it leads to loss of wealth. Once it forms a Wealth Pattern and encounters the Peer and Robber, it's not just about losing wealth, but going bankrupt! As for the Wealth Star, in terms of romantic relationships, it may only result in a breakup. However, if the Wealth Pattern encounters the Peer and Robber, it will lead to the complete failure in both romantic relationships and career. So, the pattern is related to one's whole life. Therefore, there are differences between the aspects of relatives and the aspects of the pattern.

Second, the Zhengguan (a term in traditional Chinese fortune - telling, representing a certain element in the Bazi) is afraid of the mixture of official and killing elements, while the wealth pattern is not afraid of the mixture of positive and negative wealth. This is just common sense, because people are not afraid of having too much money. So there is no such rule as the mixture of positive and negative wealth in the wealth pattern. At most, there could be a situation where there is a lot of wealth but a weak body (a metaphor in fortune - telling). When one earns a lot of money, troubles come, and there may be legal disputes and financial losses. Well, wealth is afraid of being combined. If so, your money becomes out of your control. In a wealth pattern with combination, one's money is not on oneself. It is in some companies or real - estate and cannot be moved. This is called "wealth with combination", meaning the wealth is not at one's free disposal.

Third, the Wealth Pattern fears clashes. A Wealth Pattern with clashes is also equivalent to a broken pattern. This way of comparison is exactly the same as that of the Direct Officer Pattern. As long as one can memorize the interactions of the Ten Gods and understand one Direct Officer Pattern, one can understand them all.

Fourth, for the Wealth Pattern, the Day Master also needs to be strong. To make the Day Master strong, we still rely on the Shoulder, Rob Wealth, Lu (Proper Position), Yang Blade, and Seal. However, from the perspective of the concept of mutual generation and restraint, it's different. In the Direct Officer Pattern, if you have the Shoulder and Rob Wealth, it means you only hold an official position but have no money. But in the Wealth Pattern, using the Shoulder and Rob Wealth to support the self is not the case; it just breaks the pattern. So, in the Wealth Pattern, there is no support from the Shoulder and Rob Wealth. The Yang Blade is the same; it's equivalent to the Rob Wealth. The Wealth Pattern is afraid of encountering the Yang Blade, which will lead to bankruptcy and decline in old age. Then, only the Lu can be used. Therefore, the Proper Position can be used in any pattern, which is just right. That is, for Jia, the Lu is in Yin; for Yi, the Lu is in Mao. In a birth chart, the most preferred way to make the self strong is to use the Lu. What about the Seal? The Wealth restrains the Seal. The Seal represents being noble and unsullied. So, for those with the Wealth Pattern and the Seal, they will lose a bit of that noble and unsullied flavor. To put it simply, for example, if a university professor goes to a cram school to teach, of course, it doesn't really matter. But it just doesn't sound as noble and unsullied as a professor should be. So, those with the Wealth Pattern and the Seal lose a bit of that noble and unsullied flavor. Then, for a Wealth Pattern, if it doesn't encounter the Shoulder and Rob Wealth, the Wealth doesn't combine, and there is no conflict, and it just happens to be in the Proper Position. How could it be so coincidental!

So, what should we do when encountering the unfavorable gods? We need to use the favorable gods to resolve the situation. Similar to the case of the Direct Officer pattern, in the Wealth pattern, when encountering the Peer and Rob Wealth, we should use the mediating favorable gods. The Peer and Rob Wealth generate the Eating God and Hurting Officer, and the Eating God and Hurting Officer generate the Wealth. The Eating God and Hurting Officer are the mediating favorable gods that come between the Peer and Rob Wealth. Now, think about the Direct Officer pattern again. When the Direct Officer encounters the Hurting Officer, we use the Wealth to mediate. The mediating favorable god is the one of the Ten Gods that comes between the two conflicting elements. With it generating one and being generated by the other, the conflict is resolved. If there is no such mediating favorable god, we use the Wealth to generate the Officer and Killing, and the Officer and Killing restrain the Peer and Rob Wealth. Using the Officer and Killing to restrain the Peer and Rob Wealth is what we call using the remedy favorable gods for the afflictions.

That combination of wealth and official positions, similar to the combination of official belts, although not ideal, won't cause major disasters. At most, one will be short of money. One can go to the bank to mortgage the house, which is just a bit of a hassle. Then, to strengthen the Day Master, only the "Lu" (Yang刃, a kind of positive resource in Bazi) can be used. These five ways of supporting the Day Master, namely "BiJian" (peer), "JieCai" (rival for wealth), "Lu", "YangRen" (a kind of energetic resource), and "Yin" (print), vary according to the preferences and taboos of the Bazi pattern, and also result in different personalities. This should have been explained in the positioning of the Ten Gods. At that time, I was afraid that since you all had just started learning about Bazi, you couldn't handle overly complex content. When "BiJian" and "JieCai" support the body, it's like using plywood. The Bazi pattern is supposed to bear good fortune. For the Wood of Jia in the "Yin" position (a prosperous position in the twelve earthly branches), it's like a thick wooden board. If you don't have the prosperous position and only have "BiJian" and "JieCai", it's like having twenty pieces of plywood. If you put a heavy object on them at that time, it seems the same. But if it remains unmoved for two or three months, the plywood will bend. The thick wooden board won't! That's why people whose bodies are supported by "BiJian" and "JieCai" lack perseverance and are prone to change, because it's not a thick wooden board.

Use the seal to support oneself, relying on others' strength. The board isn't thick, and there is a stick propping it up from below. The seal relies on others' strength, not your own. Once the board is removed, you're helpless. If we talk about the effects, the immediate effects are the same, but over time, they'll be different. So the effect of the peer support is short - lived, the effect of the salary is relatively long, and the effect of the seal is to rely on others' strength. Here, I'd like to remind you of the differences among peer support, salary, blade, and seal.
